Online fraud, DUIs and car break-ins downtown

A Petaluma resident lost $5,400 after transferring money for a car he had purchased on Craigslist to an account in Spain. The suspects identified themselves as working for EBay Motors and told the victim that the car would be shipped from Ohio.

A Petaluma resident who transferred $8,000 to a company in China for a business transaction reported the money stolen after the transfer to a Chinese bank was hacked and the money rerouted to an account in Nigeria. Police are investigating, but say there are few leads. 

A car was reported broken into on C Street around 10pm on Oct. 3.

Juan Reyes Ramirez and Anthony Prater, both of Santa Rosa, were cited on charges of battery on a person on Kentucky and East Washington streets on Oct. 2.

Katherine Gordon, 21, of Petaluma, was arrested for driving under the influence on Caulfield Avenue and Lakeville Highway on Oct. 2.

An attempted burglary was reported of a commercial building on Wilson Street on Oct. 2. Police did not provide an exact address.

Patrick Hanson, 29, of Petaluma was arrested for a DUI on southbound Highway 101 and East Washington Street on Oct. 1.

Richard Padilla, 49, of Petaluma was arrested for a DUI near Payran Drive and Washington Street on Oct. 1.

Tyler Suit, 19, of Petaluma was arrested for driving on a suspended license, being in violation of probation and being in possession of marijuana on Sept. 30.

A car was reported stolen from Petaluma Boulevard North on Sept. 29. Police did not provide an exact location of the theft.

Melissa and Justin Bradshaw, 23 and 25 respectively, and both from Windsor, were arrested Sept. 29 for being in possession of marijuana for sale and transporting the drug.

A theft from a car parked on Kentucky and unauthorized use of an access card that was stolen were reported on Sept. 27.

A burglary from a vehicle was reported on Petaluma Boulevard South on Sept. 27.
