Police Log DUI Collision on North McDowell Wednesday Evening

A San Francisco woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly being intoxicated when she turned directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle on North McDowell Boulevard, police said.

Kwi Kang, 38, was exiting a private driveway at 5 p.m. on the 1200 block of North McDowell and attempting to turn south when she turned directly into the path of an oncoming car traveling in the northbound lane on North McDowell, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

The person in the other car suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene, police said. The victim’s vehicle airbags deployed during the collision.

A DUI investigation determined Kang was allegedly under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent, police said.

She was arrested and booked at county jail for suspicion of felony DUI based on injuries sustained by the victim, police said.
