Police: Petaluma Man Hits Two Parked Cars, Drives Away

The 56-year-old Petaluma resident was cited on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.

A Petaluma man found himself in a hospital Wednesday evening after he allegedly struck two parked vehicles and drove away.

Police cited and released Kevin M. Odea, 56, of Petaluma, on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.

On Wednesday night, at 11:03 p.m., a witness called police to inform them that he was following Odea, who was driving a silver 1995 Volkswagen Passat. The witness told police that Odea's Passat had fresh damage on it, apparently from striking a Nissan truck parked on D Street, according to a Petaluma Police press release.

The witness caught up with Odea and saw him strike another vehicle, a Ford Ranger that was parked on Bassett Street.

Police caught up with Odea on B Street at Fair Street and made a traffic stop. Officers determined that Odea was driving under the influence of drugs and took him to Petaluma Valley Hospital, where he was admitted for medical treatment. He was released on a citation to appear in court.

Anyone who witnessed these collisions is encouraged to call the Petaluma Police Department at 707-778-4372.
