Sobriety Checkpoints Scheduled This Weekend

With numerous festivals scheduled this weekend, police and CHP want to remind drivers to slow down, drink responsibly

The Petaluma Police Department will be conducting two DUI and driver’s license checkpoints on Saturday evening to detect and deter impaired driving and suspended/unlicensed drivers.

These operations are being conducted to raise the awareness of driving under the influence by educating motorists, arresting intoxicated drivers and suspended/unlicensed drivers.

The California Highway Patrol will also have more enforcement on local highways to correspond with Passport Weekend in Healdsburg, a wine tasting event and Bodega Bay's Fishermen's Festival.

The locations of the checkpoints will not be disclosed to the public. That would defeat the purpose, right?
