Continued northerly winds and thick vegetation are hampering firefighting efforts, according to Cal Fire. The blaze was 60 percent contained this morning. More than 260 firefighters are at the scene of the Yellow Fire, Cal Fire officials said.

Firefighters have contained two vegetation fires in Napa County but are still battling one other blaze in that county and one in Sonoma County today, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The Silverado Fire, which started at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday near the 7300 block of Silverado Trail north of Yountville, was fully contained at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Cal Fire spokeswoman Karen Stasko said. That blaze burned about 75 acres, she said.

A much smaller fire that charred about two and a half acres near the Schramsberg Vineyards south of Calistoga was contained at about the same time, Stasko said. That fire started around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A third fire in Napa County that started at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday near the 1300 block of Soda Canyon Road, west of the Silverado Country Club, has consumed about 20 acres, Stasko said. That blaze, which destroyed an abandoned trailer, is still burning out of control. A fire in the same area in February 2012 burned 200 acres, Stasko said.
