Suspect in Mexican Murder Captured in Petaluma and Deported

Mario Alberto Hernandez-Huerta, 32, was arrested in Petaluma and transferred to Mexican law enforcement officials.

A Mexican national murder suspect was captured in Petaluma this week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Tuesday. 

Mario Alberto Hernandez-Huerta, 32, was captured at a home in Petaluma on Friday and handed over to Mexican law enforcement Tuesday, according to ICE officials.

Hernandez-Huerta allegedly shot Christian Trujillo Rodriguez multiple times on May 28, 2012 after Rodriguez threw a rock at his home following an argument, officials said.

Hernandez-Huerta had been previously deported from the United States in 2000 after his conviction in Oakland on assault with a firearm charges.
