Oil Hash Manufacturing Causes Apartment Fire

Fifteen-year-old boy receives burns to face and body

 

A 15-year-old boy attempting to extract hash oil from marijuana caused a small fire at the Downtown River Apartments, located at 35 East Washington Street Tuesday evening.

The teen, who lives at the complex, was extracting hash oil from dried marijuana, when the heating process caused a small fire around 9pm Tuesday. The boy suffered burns to his face and arm and was transported to the Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment.

The apartment received minor fire damage but significant water damage. The teen was issued a citation to appear in juvenile court.
