Thieves Continue to Target Utility Trucks and Vans
Police continue to investigate a string of utility work truck thefts.

Petaluma police said thieves targeted five utility work trucks and vans last week, continuing a string of such incidents.
Two Ford utility trucks were stolen in late February and one was recovered, Sgt. Ken Savano said.
As of 6 a.m. Thursday, five more vehicles were broken into or stolen Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, Savano said.
A Ford F-350 Econoline van was stolen from the 1600 block of Yarberry Drive, but it was recovered at 9 a.m. Thursday in Novato, Savano said.
Thieves took tools and equipment from the van, and officers found property that was taken from SolarCity located in the 1300 block of North McDowell Boulevard, Savano said.
Three more vans at SolarCity had been forced open, their ignitions were tampered with and property was stolen, Savano said.
Police also found an attempted theft or burglary of a Ford F250 work van, Savano said. The ignition was punched out, but nothing of value was taken from the van. Savano said.
Police are reminding the owners of Ford utility trucks and vans to secure their vehicles, remove valuable items from them and report suspicious vehicles or people in the area.
