Thieves Hit Eastside Neighborhood Over Weekend

Break into cars stealing GPS, iPhones and other items

Police are warning residents to lock their cars and remove all valuables from their vehicles following another rash of car break-ins over the weekend.

Between Saturday and Sunday, someone entered unlocked parked cars around the Falcon Ridge Drive area, next to the Adobe Creek Golf Course and stole small items including iPods, iPhones and other electronics.

All of the cars that had items stolen were left unlocked. In contrast, cars that were locked did not have items stolen, evidence that the thieves were looking for easy targets that didn't involve breaking glass or picking a lock. Police are reminding everyone to lock their vehicle doors to avoid thefts.
