A routine traffic stop Tuesday on Lakeville Highway lead to the discovery of nearly two pounds of marijuana and a loaded gun, according to Petaluma Police.

Ahman Burns, a 23-year-old from Vallejo, was arrested after the officer who had stopped him noticed marijuana buds that were sticking out from another object. The officer then searched Burns' car, finding 1.7 pounds of marijuana and a loaded Beretta handgun that had been stolen.

The incident occurred around 7:40pm in the 1000 block of Lakeville Highway. Burns was charged with possession and transport of marijuana, possession of a stolen and loaded firearm and committing a criminal offense while out on bail.

Burns is currently out on bail for a Humboldt County case in which he was arrested for possessing marijuana for sale and a loaded firearm. He was arrested and booked at Sonoma County Jail.
