Traffic Stop Results in Arrest for Meth

Drugs found with help of police dog

A routine traffic stop Friday night for a vehicle equipment violation resulted in the arrest of a Corte Madera man who had more than 6 grams of methamphetamine on him, according to Petaluma police.

Thomas James Taylor, 39, was stopped on North McDowell extension and was found to be on probation. This allowed police to search his car, which they did with the help of police dog “Tango.”

The search found 6.25 grams of methamphetamine that was hidden in the suspect’s car. Taylor was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail.
