The driver of a Honda Civic ran off of Petaluma Hill Road at a
curve about a half-mile from Hunter Lane and struck the pole around 2:30
a.m., CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
A passenger was ejected from the Honda and died at the scene,
The driver was partially ejected out of the driver's side window
and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead,
The names of the two people killed were not immediately available.
The CHP is investigating whether the driver was impaired prior to
the crash, Sloat said.
