Two Men Stabbed, Hospitalized Tuesday; Three Petaluma Teens Arrested

Three 18-year-olds were arrested in connection with a double stabbing reported Tuesday at the intersection of Madison and Ellis streets, according to police.

The Petaluma Police Department, responding to a stabbing call in the area of McKinley Elementary School at 8:40 p.m., found a male bleeding from multiple stab wounds, who was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Investigators initially believed two men were attacked by a group of five, police said. But as the investigation continued, officers learned two other subjects had arrived at Petaluma Valley Hospital -- one in the emergency room suffering from serious stab wounds, and another detained in the parking lot who was involved in the altercation, police said.

The subject in the ER parking lot was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, while the stabbed man inside was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

At the stabbing scene, police contacted two subjects who matched the description of the alleged stabbers and one was detained and arrested, while the other subject fled on foot and was subdued with the use of a TASER after a lengthy foot pursuit.

The PPD Investigations unit is handling the investigation, and at this time there are three arrests for charges including suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious injury, possession of brass knuckles and resisting arrest.

Those arrested were Jesse Bright, Moses Hunt and Jesus Gallarza Larios, all 18 and from Petaluma. Charges are pending for additional suspects, police said.

Witnesses said there wasn't a lengthy argument before the assaults, which occurred across the street from McKinley Elementary School at 110 Ellis St.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Tamara Shoemaker at (707)778-4444.
