Victim of Hit and Run Pursues Driver, Helps Police Make Arrest

Drunk driver causes non-injury traffic accident Sunday, then flees scene

A Petaluma man was arrested Sunday for causing a hit and run accident on Lakeville Highway and found to have blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.

Police say 37-year-old Keith Michelluci struck a nearby car while driving northbound on Lakeville Highway around 5pm Sunday and continued driving. The victim, who was not injured, followed Michelluci while reporting the incident on his cell phone.

Officers located Michelluci using the description provided by the victim and pulled him over on Petaluma Boulevard North. A records check revealed that Michelluci was on probation for a prior DUI and a breathalyzer test showed his blood-alcohol level at .25.
