West Payran Street Water Main Repaired, Street Now Open

Water as deep as 18 inches flooded the street late Thursday.

Petaluma police said a 16-inch water line that broke Thursday afternoon has been fixed and the roadway that was flooded has reopened as of Friday morning.

According to police, the water line broke around 4:30 p.m. Thursday on West Payran Street and Petaluma Boulevard North.

Westbound lanes of West Payran Street were temporarily closed from Petaluma Boulevard North to the other side of the railroad tracks, a police dispatcher said.

The water on the street by the break was about 18 inches deep but has been cleared, police said.
