A woman with five prior DUI arrests in the past eight years was arrested Monday on Lakeville Highway after being spotted driving 75 miles an hour in a 45mph zone.
Ruth Kathryn Fielding, 59, of Walnut Creek, was arrested after speeding on Lakeville near South McDowell Extension. When the officer approached her, he noticed a smell of alcohol and a sobriety test revealed that Fielding had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal amount.
In addition, Fielding was on active DUI probation and was driving on a suspended license. Records show Fielding has five prior DUI arrests in July 2003, February 2006, January 2008, October 2008, and March 2011.
