Woman Struck By Semi Truck While Walking

Suffers major injuries

The 23-year-old Petaluma woman who was struck by a semi truck Saturday morning is still in critical condition, according to nurses at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Heather Kontos was walking at the intersection of North McDowell Boulevard and East Washington Street around 6am Saturday when she was struck by a mail truck, Petaluma police said.

The collision occurred on the northwest corner of the intersection. It is unclear if Kontos was on the sidewalk or in the roadway at the time of the collision.

Kontos was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries to her pelvis, police said.
