City Hoping New Turning Light Will Reduce Collisions

Right of way accidents, especially when drivers turning left, have been on rise

A growing number of right of way collisions is prompting the city to put in new turning signals, including a flashing yellow turning light, according to an article in Friday's Argus Courier.

Right of way violations are the single biggest cause of accidents in Petaluma, according to traffic data, which prompted the police department to apply for and receive a grant that will help purchase more than two dozen turning signals throughout town.

What do you think of the blinking yellow light? Will it help reduce accidents?
