Community Forum with Supervisor David Rabbitt

Join District 2 Supervisor David Rabbitt as he discusses the county's new initiative "Upstream Investments," created last year. The initiative is a way to deal with the most challenging of social ills facing our community--gangs, substance abuse and domestic violence--by preventing them from happening in the first place.

The forum targets people working for governmental or nonprofit agencies and seeks to explain what upstream investments are and how they differ from ongoing programs.

These include investments in prenatal care, parenting programs, schools and at-risk populations and will target numerous local nonprofits.

"I think we all understand that if we all spend more money on those preventitive programs that keep children and adults from going down an avenue that will cost us a society more money, then it's money well invested," Rabbitt said.
