Jared Huffman Sworn In As Marin's New Congressman

Huffman will represent newly drawn 2nd District, which includes all of Marin County.

Newly elected Congressman Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) was sworn in as a member of the 113th Congress on Thursday, Jan. 3 in Washington, D.C.

“I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to solve problems and to get things done,” said Huffman. “I’m mindful of the huge responsibility I’m undertaking, and I’m ready and excited to get to work on behalf of the great people of California’s second district.”

Congressman Huffman was joined at his swearing in event by his mother, Phyllis, who lives in Independence, Mo., plus his two brothers, his wife and and their two children. In honor of the occasion, Huffman hosted a reception and watch party with family and constituents from California’s 2nd district in his DC office.

Just before being sworn in, Huffman posted on Facebook, "I feel incredibly honored, filled with a sense of the rich history and importance of this office, mindful of the huge responsibility I'm undertaking, and ready to get to work!"

Huffman represents the 2nd district of California, which covers the North Bay and over 500 miles of coastline stretching from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border.

Huffman was sworn in with a class of 67 new representatives: 29 Republicans and 38 Democrats.

Jared Huffman will be a constructive legislator. He has great ideas and I wish him great success. I guess if I lived in a community dominated by Republicans I might be as bitter as Romina, Sonia, David and EWC. But fortunately, I live in a community full of enlightened intelligent people who believe in progress.

I'll lay you three hundred and fifty to one that he sells out to AIPAC like all the rest of them have been doing since the first day they set foot in office. Think this is some kind of a joke? Well, maybe you should spend a little time researching the way AIPAC has got both of the political whore houses of Knesset West aka Kremlin West aka the "United States" congress right in their vest pocket. ....and people wonder why 68 million Americans have finally had it to here and have told the i.r.s. where to go with their 1040s and what to do with them when they get down there.
