Petaluma Police Make Several License Violation Arrests, One DUI Arrest During Checkpoint

Police check 900 cars at separate checkpoints.

During two separate DUI checkpoints in Petaluma, police made one arrest and cited 18 others for DUI and driver's license related violations,  police said.        
During the first checkpoint, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, on westbound Old Redwood Highway at Redwood Way, no DUI arrests were made,  police said.          

Nine drivers were arrested and cited for license violations,  according to police.    One person was arrested for driving under the influence during the second checkpoint, on East Washington Street at Johnson Drive between 10 p.m.  Friday and 2 a.m. today, police said.            

Another eight people were arrested and cited for license violations.           I

n total, more than 900 cars were screened in the two checkpoints.      

Another DUI arrest was made outside of the checkpoints, and three collisions, believed to be alcohol-related, were reported, police said.
