Starting this Saturday, Caltrans will begin removing trees along northbound Highway 101 and the northbound on-ramp from Lakeville Highway to the freeway.
The trees will be removed to make room for a proposed soundwall along with other interchange improvements.
The Lakeville Highway/Redwood Highway Interchange project is one of the first phases for the Marin Sonoma Narrows Corridor High Occupancy Vehicle lane project from Route 37 in Novato to just south of Old Redwood Highway in Petaluma.
The tree removal will require a complete closure of the northbound on-ramp to Highway 101 from Lakeville Highway (Route 116E) as well as closure of the northbound right lane of Highway 101.
The work will occur between 7pm and 11pm and is expected to take a little over two weeks from the start date, weather permitting. Work cannot be performed during daytime hours due to high traffic volumes on Highway 101 and the northbound Onramp from Highway 116.
