Readers' Choice Poll for Best Live Music in Petaluma

Where do you go to hear live music in town? There are a handful of places and we've added a couple more -- cast your vote for Readers' Choice!

 

This week's Readers Choice poll is sure to be divisive, or at least one that divides Petaluma either geographically (East to West) or generationally (Millennial to Boomer) or both. Where is your favoriate place to hear live music in town?

On the west side there are two venerable standbys:, with its reliable line-up of local and national acts filling the calendar most nights. From reggae to folk, hard rock to world, the Mystic anchors the downtown scene most nights of the week.

Not far away in distance but at times a world apart in appeal, has risen from the ashes a number of times over the decades, from opera house to movie theater to punk gathering house. Now it hosts a music school and teen health clinic while keeping its punk and hip-hop audience coming with frequent shows.  

Finally on the far side of the 101 we find , an open-air beer garden  specializing in late-afternoon concerts of the Americana variety -- cowboy music, ukulele rock, hillbilly boogie, stuff like that. You can hear solo artists or small groups play from the intimate stage while enjoying the nationally-known brewery's best on tap.

We could only find these three in our Patch directory, but several Patch and Facebook readers suggested the , so we'll add that as well. Final addition is , which has live music every Saturday night. Sorry, we are not including seasonal outdoor shows, stage presentations or other musical "extras" to living in Petaluma.
