52 Weeks of Petaluma: Week 3

Its week 3 and with another week I submit yet another photograph of Petaluma.

It is already week 3 in my photo project, and I had no idea that it would get so difficult so soon.  Not that I do not enjoy going out to get my photo for the week, but at times it seems hard to be able to get out and get my shot in time to post every week.  I am determined to do this so here is my entry for this week.  This was taken from the roof level of the Theater District parking structure.  I entered a photo contest this week, and I have some shots that I got that I can truly say that I am proud of, but I don’t think that I should enter them in the local contest and post them on this blog at the same time. So this is my second choice, and I think that it came out very well.

I learned a couple of things while going out on shoots this week.  One lesson was that it is easier to get inspired by the things around you when you have a plan, like last week with the doors.  I went out a couple of days this week with no plan and came home with just a handful of so-so shots, so having a plan is really the way to go, for now anyway while I am still learning.  Next week I will have a good plan and a theme.  The other thing that I learned this week is that I need to not stretch myself out too thin.  This photo contest that I have entered was brought to my attention with little time to get out and get some photos that I would be proud of.  I am not saying that I need to not enter contests, but I need to make sure that I have ample time to fulfill my obligation to this project and to also make time for the other activities that I would like to do.  It is not just a lesson for my photography, but also a life lesson.  As always, I would love to get suggestions on themes and ideas that I can add to my list.  I appreciate you looking at my work.
