To energize county residents for the 350 Home & Garden Challenge weekend May 14th & 15th, join Daily Acts for a whirlwind tour of water efficiency and energy empowerment at two homes in Petaluma. We'll take an inspiring visit to the homestead of Trathen Heckman, Executive Director of Daily Acts, where greywater and rainwater glory aligns with thoughtful resource use. We’ll also visit George & Ellen Beeler’s award-winning ‘net-zero’ energy home built in 1940. Remodeling has reduced electric and natural gas use by 75%, and dropped daily water use to 33 gallons/day––just one fifth of the American average. Their low energy use is even more remarkable because the Beelers live and work at home. Both tour sites showcase cutting-edge options alongside key behavior modifications. You’ll leave with plenty of mindful, daily actions to keep your home & garden sanely-powered and water-wise, and you'll be inspired to register a 350 action to help us meet the goal of 1,000 actions across the county!

The 350 Home & Garden Challenge is a county-wide initiative endorsed by all Sonoma County cities which challenges Sonoma County residents to take 1,000 actions to Grow Food, Conserve Water, Save Energy, and Build Community. Register your action today to be a part of this incredible, community-powered initiative! No action is too small, and participants can partake in a variety of weekend educational events by visiting our website at www.dailyacts.org/350-challenge or downloading our "weekend directory" attached here.
