Dark & Light: A Petals & Bones Creative Writing Workshop

Celebrate summer's end and the move from light to dark with an afternoon of writing. In this workshop, we will explore transition, change and different aspects of death and dying with writing prompts that are sure to stir the imagination. Dani Burlison is a displaced social worker, mother and activist turned  writer and wannabe anthropologist. A staff writer at Marin County's  Pacific Sun,  her writing also appears in Rad Dad Zine, Bike Monkey Magazine, hipMama Magazine, elephant journal, The North Bay Bohemian, Offbeat Mama, Cosmic Cowgirls Magazine, Metro Santa Cruz and three upcoming anthologies. She holds an MA from New College of California and lives in Santa Rosa, CA with her two daughters.

Leilani Clark has taught creative writing, composition, and literature classes to teens and adults for ten years. She is a staff writer at the North Bay Bohemian. Her publications include news pieces, music profiles and personal essays for Is Greater Than, Clamor Magazine, Women’s Voices, Punk Planet, The Cleveland Scene, Santa Cruz Weekly, Metro Silicon Valley, Sacramento News and Review and the Orlando Weekly. Leilani recently completed a collection of short stories and earned an MFA in Writing and Consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
