Pest Control Seminar

Sonoma County Regional Parks presents a daylong seminar for pesticide applicators. Geared toward landscaping, park, golf course and vineyard professionals.

Speakers & Topics include:

  • Sonoma County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office Laws and Regulations Update/Pest Management
  • Emery Dann – Past President, Sonoma County Beekeepers’ Association Importance of Managing Bees in the Landscape
  • Art Slater – IPM innovator, University of California Berkeley Argentine Ants: Landscape/Structural Problem
  • Mike Porter – independent agricultural consultant. Correct Diagnosis of Plant Disease & Pests
  • John Schuster – Wild Wing Company. Controlling Vertebrates: Animals, Traps & Baits
  • Al Wolf – Sonoma County Reptile Rescue
    Venomous & Non-venomous Snakes & Spiders
  • Todd Detzel – turf consultant. Turf Management
  • Barbara Ellis – Redwood Empire Rose Society. Growing Great Roses: An IPM Approach

The seminar will supply current pesticide application information, promoting safety for the applicator and the public. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and sensible use of chemical control will also be promoted. This will be a forum to network and gather information. Seven (7) CEU units have been requested for all Pest Control Advisors and Qualified Applicators.
