Local Company Donates New Lockers to SVHS

Gift worth $80,000

A Petaluma company has donated 440 lockers to St. Vincent de Paul High School, helping to replace old lockers that had been on campus for more than 30 years.

The donation was made by Security People Inc., owned by Asil and Claudia Gokcebay, and comes as the school has been trying to raise money to replace its worn out lockers.

"There is something wrong when necessities are now luxuries,” said Asil Gokcebay. “We knew we had to be part of the solution.”

The donation includes keyless locks and totals $80,000.

“We truly appreciate businesses like SPI that made it possible to move forward on this project four years ahead of schedule,” said John Walker, principal of St. Vincent High School. “Our kids have been in the same lockers for over 30years and without SPI the 2011-2012 school year would have been a much different experience.”
