New Lit Crosswalks to be Installed Near Casa Grande
There have been at least three pedestrians struck by cars since December 2010
The city will put in two lighted crosswalks near Casa Grande High School, following at least three incidents in the area.
One lighted crosswalk will be installed at Ely Boulevard South and Spoonbill Avenue, the site of two accidents since December 2010. The other will be installed at Casa Grande Road at Crinella Drive, where one accident has occurred since 2010.

The crossings are already marked, but the city and police hope the lit crosswalks will make it safer for students to cross the four lanes of traffic moving in both directions.
The work will cost $132,000 and be funded by a grant from the Highway Safety Improvement Program.
