Thanks for the tip to what sounds like a terrific show tonight; and welcome to Local Voices, Scott! Your "Sound and Vision" blog is off to a great start. Can't wait to find out what you recommend to us next.

The show was fabulous. Two straight hours of non-stop funk. A very tight and rehearsed octet (2 vocalists, keys, drums, bass, guitar, trumpet and Maceo on sax-all of whom got extended solos that the crowd loved). A real true funk show with solid choreographed footwork and tight breaks-everyone was on their feet by the end of the show. Maceo's version of Ray Charles' You Don't Know Me (a duet with the keyboard player) was a show stopper-he had all the exact moves and phrasing down (sunglasses too)-a totally respectful impersonation and so well done. Good job NVOH - good booking. Thanks for bringing him in.

AW man, sorry I missed this. I saw Maceo last year at Yoshi's. I am always quoting him "Make it Funky!"
