Local Businesses Support Our Troops

Support our local troops and veterans at Operation Heartlift's Troop Night Sept. 10.

In a couple of weeks the 10th 'anniversary' of 9/11 will be on everyone's mind, especially those who will be attending the "Honor our Troops Nite" here in Petaluma, hosted by Operation Heartlift.

Troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, as well as their families, in Sonoma and Marin counties, will be honored by those who live in the North Bay.

The response has been wonderful from organizations, businesses and churches that are enthusiastically donating dollars, advertising, gift items to be given to the troops, food, space and effort for the Sept. 10, 2011 event.

Donors include:

Mary's Pizza
Applebees, Santa Rosa
Flamez Restaurant
Pepper's Restaurant
Giacomo's Ristorante
Mi Pueblo
Beyond the Glory Sports Bar & Grill
Lily Kai's
Round Table Pizza, Sebastopol
Driven Raceway
River's Edge Kayak & Canoe Trips
The Cotati Independent
Petaluma Valley Athletic Club
Petaluma Fire Dept.
North Bay Patriots
Happily Ever Parties
Petaluma Poultry
Petaluma Church of Christ

More donations are coming in each day as the word is spreading, and the troops and their families are sure to feel this very tangible expression of appreciation, both at the all-American BBQ with activities for the kids, and the 'Worthy Tribute' program following, where local Petaluma author Brian Sobel will speak and pThe Celestial City sisters of Santa Rosa will perform.

This is what community is all about, and we've got a great community!

So, if you are an Iraq/Afghanistan war vet, or the family member of one, you are invited as Operation Heartlift's guest. Check out the details at Operation Heartlift's website.

And if you are a business, organization, or individual that would like to contribute to making this event a night our troops and their families will not forget, you can find the contact information at the website as well.

"Lifting the Hearts of our troops and their families" is the goal of Operation Heartlift and this community event is an opportunity for all of us to make that happen. Even if you do not support the war, you can support our troops and their families, who are, after all, our neighbors, our sons and daughters, our husbands and wives, our mothers and fathers.
