NASCAR’s fender-banging action returns to Sonoma next June with the likes of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart battling for a return to the Wine Country Winner’s Circle on the 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course, while stars like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski look for their first Sonoma wins.

The Sprint Cup Series will be joined by the NASCAR Pro Series West over race weekend for the ninth consecutive year. Lakeport’s (Calif.) Derek Thorn charged to the lead late in June’s event and pulled away in a green-white-checkered finish to take the win.

Race fans will once again be treated the only air show on the NASCAR circuit during pre-event ceremonies on Sunday, June 22. The Patriots Jet Team Air Show, which boasts an all-volunteer team and is the only six-jet civilian demonstration team in the country, will rock the skies above the raceway with a 25-minute show featuring jets operating at speeds better than 500 mph.
