Casa Grande Boys, Girls to Host North Coast Section Playoff Doubleheader

Girls open things Tuesday, followed by boys in tournament openers

This week, Casa Grande High will be the center of the Sonoma Valley high school basketball universe, with the Gauchos boys and girls both hosting the first-round, North Coast Section Division I playoff games Tuesday night.

The No. 2 seeded Casa Grande boys open at home at 8 p.m. when they put their 24-4 record on the line against 15th-seeded American.

That game will be preceded by the Gauchos girls' encounter with #11 of American. Casa Grande is seeded third at 19-9.

The winner of the Casa Grande boys game will advance to take on the survivor of the game between seventh-seeded Dougherty Valley (18-8) and No. 10 Ukiah (20-8). The game will be held at the home of the highest seeded surviving team. The game day will be determined this week.

If the Gauchos girls survive, they'll play the winner of the battle between No. 3 seed Santa Rosa (21-7) and No. 10 seed Alameda (14-12).
