Petaluma's Small Craft Center is inviting the public to try canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and standup paddleboards during its annual free "Day On The River" from 9 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 5.
Attendees will get a chance to receive free rowing and paddling instruction and the opportunity to try an eight-oared rowing shell, a six-person outrigger canoe, and other human powered watercraft including kayaks and traditional rowboats, as well as stand-up paddling and pedal boats (note: height and age restrictions may apply to on-water activities).

Land activities include informational displays about boating organizations and the Petaluma River, live acoustic string music featuring the Petalukes and sudden poetry by Voice of The River, a project of Petaluma Water Ways.
The Petaluma Small Craft Center Coalition (PSC3) is a group of local river users and advocates whose mission is to improve river access and recreation through small craft programming and development of a rental center and community boathouse for all the citizens of Petaluma and Sonoma County to enjoy.
