200,000 teams in the US X 11 players X 10% =220,000 , but there are 35,000 + high schools so it is more likely 500,000 players .. 1% = 5,000 , 21 division 1 teams = ~300 - odds of a Petaluma LL player - perhaps one every 10 years plays in the minors, one in 30 years plays majors ?

Great game. Petaluma's players showed great character in their ability to keep battling back. The players are great kids. The coaches are great coaches and very upbeat. The parents looked like a great bunch of supporters. The sportsmanship displayed by both sides and their fans was outstanding. These kids have grit and Petaluma is proud of them.
tony August 25, 2012 at 11:28 PM
No joy in Mudville today, but we're full of pride for these boys' fine run! A tremendous accomplishment and plenty of true grit in their comeback. Way to go Homeez.
Brent Ainsworth August 25, 2012 at 11:53 PM
That's tres bien dedication, Caitlin!
Brent Ainsworth August 25, 2012 at 11:56 PM
When they made that 10-run comeback, I pretty much didn't care which team won at that point. The comeback was amazing enough.
Ann Popovic August 26, 2012 at 12:07 AM
I second that; that was unbelievable! AND unforgetable! We'll all be sitting around when we're 80 saying, "Hey, remember that time..."?
Lois Bond August 26, 2012 at 01:01 AM
Oh what a great game, way to go Petaluma what amazing come back. I agree with Brent at that point I didn't care who won, they did a awesome job!!!!!!!!!!
Carlos Villatoro August 26, 2012 at 01:04 AM

Andrew Haynes August 26, 2012 at 01:30 AM
Very proud to have you guys represent our town.
Phillip Bailey August 26, 2012 at 06:30 PM
Whose ever reading this from Patch Petaluma should 86 this troll with the fake name. John Smith? Really why not Bill Smith. His kid probably did not make the LL AS Team & thus dispises Eric Smith. CONGRATS to the victory this morning "Boyz". We love you.
Ptown August 26, 2012 at 06:43 PM
Agree Philip. You're probably right about your assumption. The LL World Series are truly teams playing. Representing a area, making it much better. Geese, these are kids, not professionals playing in the pro-bowl, or the MLB all star game. Ignore Smith, he's just sour apples.
Phillip Bailey August 26, 2012 at 11:13 PM
I want to thank and compliment Petaluma Patch and those handling this blog about the Boyz from Petaluma. Kudos for monitoring this board regarding a certain "person". As PTown said, these are 11-12-12 1/2 year old BOYS making all of California and especially Northern California proud. Thank you for the "removal".
