Breaking: Petaluma Wins First Game of Little League World Series 6-4.

Petaluma is squaring off against Fairfield, CT, in Little League World Series, stay with Patch for live updates!

Update 2:04 p.m.: Pitcher Andrew White prevails against Fairfield batters ending the sixth inning with a strikeout. The Nationals win the first game of the Little League World Series, 6-4. They play again on Sunday, 2 p.m., Eastern Time.

Update: 1:55 p.m.: Cole Tomei sets the stage for the inning with a center field single. Danny Marzo's subsequent center-field hit scored Tomei, giving the Nationals a two-run lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning. Fairfield has one last chance to tie it up, or win the game.

Update: 1:38 p.m.: Fairfield's Will Lucas triples to right field, scoring Daniel Kiernan. Lucas himself, scores on an overthrown ball from pitcher Andrew White, making it 5-4 with Petaluma ahead.

Update: 1:31 p.m.: A center-field hit by Austin Paretti has scored two runs for the Nationals in the top of the third inning. Nationals now leading 5-2. Paretti's shot scored Bradley Smith and Danny Marzo.

Update: 1:22 p.m.: Impressive hitting by Kevin Oricoli and errors on the part of the Nationals have made this a one-score game. Petaluma ahead, 3-2 at the start of the 5th inning. Oricoli scores on an overthrown ball.

Update: 1:03 p.m.: Pitcher Bradley Smith retired Fairfield, entering the top of the 4th inning, Petaluma ahead, 3-1.

Update: 12:53 p.m.: Bradley Smith sent a two-run homer into center field to score Logan Douglas and himself, putting Petaluma in the lead, 3-1.

Update 12:46 p.m.: The Nationals enter the third inning in the Little League World Series tied 1-1 with Fairfield, Ct., at Little League World Series.
