Three Hours and a World of Difference

A few hours, a few dollars on Sunday, August 14, can help Petaluma's homeless animals for a year.

If we think we have it bad in this economy, imagine our pets and the animals trying to survive.

The related well-being of wildlife in and around Petaluma also relies upon good care of our domestic animal friends.

This Sunday, the Petaluma Animal Shelter hosts its Second Annual fundraiser from 1-4pm at Rooster Run Golf Course Event Center. They will be holding a silent auction for about 80 items, along with raffle prizes.

Many often recall the Mahatma Gandhi quote about animals in people's lives:  "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals," he said.

Petaluma has made meaningful progress in the past few years with care and advocacy for homeless animals.

Advance tickets have been on sale from Rooster Run, the Animal Shelter, and Animal Services Advisory Committee members. There will also be ticket sales at the door. Spend a couple hours of your weekend to help support Petaluma's homeless animals and show our community's compassion for animals in the next year.

Hope to see you there.
