City of Petaluma Fire Department

<p>The Petaluma Fire Department was established in 1858 and has 48 firefighters including captains, engineers and paramedics. When they are not battling flames or responding to medical emergencies, firefighters are busy conducting building inspections and other duties around town to make sure fire codes are met.</p> <p>The department responded to more than 5,000 calls last year--about 13 a day--and is overseen by Fire Chief Larry Anderson.</p>
