The venerable guitar amp maker Mesa/Boogie has a fascinating history. From its very humble late-1960s beginnings in an old ramshackle dog kennel in Lagunitas, owner Randall Smith has carried on to this day creating his world-famous, highly esteemed electric guitar amplifiers. Early clients included Carlos Santana and Keith Richards. It was, in fact, Santana's exclamation, "Wow, this little thing really boogies!" while testing the prototype that gave the amplifier line its name. In addition to the Boogie, Mesa/Boogie manufactures the Rectifier and Transatlantic amplifiers, which are also world-renowned models. The facility maintains a sales and service office here in addition to being the primary manufacturing location.
