Crossroads Community Day school is a middle school continuation program located on the Petaluma Junior High SchoolMore campus. Though it was founded in 2000, this is only its second year at its current location. It is a free program for seventh, eighth and ninth graders that offers an alternative method of fulfilling junior high requirements and moving on to high school. The school offers a daily lunch program. Crossroads Community Day school is currently at about 50% of its capacity.

Sonoma Mountain High School provides a program that is an alternative route to graduation. It is located on the CasaMore Grande High School campus  and students can use the Casa Grande cafeteria. The building's surroundings include a  well-manicured walkway, garden and mural. 
St. James Parish School of Religion

The St. James Parish School of Religion accepts preschool through high school students and teaches them about theMore Catholic Church. It encourages children to participate within their community and their church. The registration deadline is Sept. 1. A special program is offered for children so that, if need be, they can be baptized or receive Sacraments of Reconciliation or Eucharist before enrolling in the school. The office is closed for the month of July. The school participates in an off-site vacation Bible school during the summer.

One of the largest schools in town, Petaluma High School has 1,600 students and 85 teachers. It offers a wide varietyMore of electives from French and Spanish to animation and computer graphics to horticulture. After-school sports include football, cross country, soccer, volleyball, tennis, swimming and more. 

In 2004, the school won a grant that allowed it to establish Smaller Learning Communities, in which students are exposed to the sciences, language and history with real-life applications based on their interests. Students also run the Petaluma Wildlife Museum, open on the weekends. The school received an 808 on the Growth Academic Performance Index (API) score in 2010.

Casa Grande High School

Casa Grande High School was founded in the 1970s and today educates nearly 1,800 students. It has a 93 percentMore graduation rate and about 33 percent Latino students, including 18 percent English learners. The school prides itself in a rigorous curriculum where students meet in "small learning communitites," cluster groups with different subject concentrations including marketing and media, green technology, health careers and liberal studies to better prepare themselves for the workplace.

The school is led by principal Linda Scheele and received 791 on the 2010 Growth API score, exceeding its target by more than 15 points.
