The California State Assembly is the lower house of the California State Legislature. There are 80 members in theMore Assembly. The Assembly has the largest population per representative ratio of any state legislature lower house. Members of the Assembly are restricted by term limits, confining them to three two-year terms. The Assembly convenes at the California State Capitol in Sacramento.</p> <p>The man representing Petaluma in Sacramento is Democratic Assemblyman Jared Huffman whose sponsored legislation includes tougher laws to combat DUIs, ground water safety and renewable energy incentives for large businesses. </p> <p>Assemblymember Huffman's staff can help constituents contact local, state, and federal agencies, assist with grant applications and provide consumer protection information.
