Two DUI Checkpoints Planned in Petaluma Friday

The checkpoints will be set up in undisclosed areas of the city.

A county-wide crackdown on drunk drivers continues Friday night with sobriety checkpoints in Petaluma.

The Petaluma Police Department will set up two DUI and driver's license checkpoints in the city Friday night, according to a press release.

The location of the checkpoints won't be disclosed to the public, the department said.

"This operation is being conducted as part of the AVOID the 13 Sonoma County DUI Task Force 2013 Winter Mobilization Campaign that began Friday December 13th and ends Wednesday, January 1st 2014," the press release stated. "Funding for these operations has been provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration."
