Dia del Nino / Day of the Child 2013 at Plaza North This Sunday

Dia del Nino / Day of the Child is a fun event for the whole family

 

We are delighted to announce our annual Dia del Nino / Day of the Child is right around the corner on Sunday, April 28th from 1 pm – 4 pm..

Taking place every spring, this Spanish-language event celebrates and honors children.

One of the new features for 2013 will be a Mechanical Bull!

Here is the tentative schedule of events:

Talent show for kids (up to age 13): Bring your dance moves, musical instrument, whatever you do and strut your stuff onstage at 2pm

Disney Character Dance Show: We will have Disney characters in the area all afternoon, but at 2:30pm, they will put on a brief dance show.

Tae Kwon Do Demo: Prepare to be amazed at the skills of the talented Tae Kwon Do students and their teachers at 3pm.

Gangnam Style Dancing: We’ll be doing some Gangnam moves and dance lessons at around 3:15 or so.

Other attractions that will be going on the entire afternoon include a huge

  • A Mechanical Bull
  • Raffle (lots of prizes)
  • Clown who does balloon animals
  • Disney Characters (photos with the characters are available for $1 each)
  • Vendors
  • Face Painting
  • Food from Lola’s Mexican Market and Don Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant
  • Food, Music, Games (check out the Kid Musical Chairs and Adult Musical Chairs from years past.
  • Fun

Whether you speak Spanish or not, this is a entertaining, uplifting event for the entire family.
